Miya Outlaw is a printmaker and illustrator born and raised in Atlanta, GA. She is currently working towards earning her BFA at The Savannah College of Art and Design in Atlanta, GA. For as long as she can remember she has been conveying her thoughts and emotions onto paper. While exploring different ways to interpret her ideas she stumbled onto printmaking at SCAD and has been pursuing it ever since. Her works have been displayed at Thomas Dean Fine Arts, Atlanta, Open Studio Night at SCAD Atlanta, Peachtree Aikikai Atlanta, and Alexander Ink in Savannah, GA.

Her work is concerned with the idea of forsaking the child-like innocence within and the comical misunderstandings of insects. Focusing on these two concepts, she analyzes the apathy humans have towards insects and the immature behavior of the youth with the help of the characters she creates. In creating these characters, she illustrates the mutual feelings of discomfort humans have when confronting insects and maturity.
